The goal of this course is to facilitate communication
with Spanish-speaking employees or clients in the workplace.
• The course is different from traditional foreign
language classes usually taught in high schools and
colleges as it is not based on grammar translation methodologies
that require years of study before the learner is able
to communicate. Instead, the course content, such as
workplace vocabulary and basic interpersonal communication
skills (BICS), is determined collaboratively by the
students and the instructor according to the specific
needs of the business.
•
The instructional approaches used include the Natural
Approach and the Berlitz methods that include the use
of visual aids, authentic materials, music and short
dialogues. There are no tests, quizzes, or grades, and
the instructor strives to create a low-anxiety, fun,
and productive experience for all. |
